Happy Thanksgiving!

This has not been an easy year for me, as I am sure it has not been for many Americans. The loss of my Mom this summer was one of the hardest challenges of my lifetime.  A few months later, based on the continuing decline in the economy, I decided to close my main company. 

Nevertheless, this Thanksgiving I find myself with so much to be thankful for.  For one, I made it through this year!  I thank God for the lifetime of love from my Mom and for my wonderful friends and family.  I thank God for a great Pastor and wonderful Church family. I thank God for the people he has brought into my life and the opportunities he has shown me. I thank God that he gave Representative-elect Scott Rigell and his family the fortitude to run for Congress and the opportunity to help him in his quest.  I thank God for our President.  Without his liberal agenda our Country would have gone slowly down the same path he has shoved us down – only we would have never realized it.   I thank God for the opportunity to host my talk-radio show, Politics On the Edge, and all of the incredible people it brings into my life.  I thank God for a great horse and for my health. ;~)

 Most of all, I thank God for my faith in God and his love for me.  Without which, I would have never made it through this year.

I’ve been out at a number of events lately and I’ve had many, many wonderful comments from folks from all parts of the shore; men and women; from all walks of life; different ethnic backgrounds – black, white and brown; young and old.

Of course, I’ve also had a couple of comments from folks that say they don’t agree with me; but they listen nevertheless! :~)

The Eastern Shore is a unique and beautiful place; all of our citizens are likewise, all unique and beautiful people.

Sanctity of Life and China’s Disregard for Life.

Are deceased people art?

***CAUTION GRAPHIC CONTENT***I was on a plane to Houston recently going to the Memorial services for my Mom. As I flipped through the airplane magazine I saw an ad for an art exhibit that really disturbed me. The photo seemed to show a real person, but without their skin.

On reading the ad it became apparent that this ‘art’ exhibit was indeed of REAL HUMAN BODIES. I promised myself I would look into this when I got home. I found this news story this evening. I should not be surprised that the bodies came from China.

These stories give, ‘made in China’ a whole new meaning. I do believe we need to help shed light on this horrible practice.

Is it OK because the bodies were ‘unclaimed’? Is it OK even if the individual consented? Where exactly is OUR ‘society’ headed? What does it say of us if we place so little value on human life that we think it is OK to desecrate the bodies of these individuals and tour them around and call it ‘art’. It is one thing for China to have these exhibits in their country; it is quite another for us to allow it HERE.

Did you know that Chinese prisoners are being subjected to widespread organ harvesting without their permission? Or that China sells body parts to anyone that has the cash?

What have we come to that we place so little value on the lives and memory of people? Is it OK just because they were not your son, or your daughter? Is it OK because they were not your mother or your father? Someone loved them and cherished them and had hopes for their future.

No, I don’t want to censure ‘Art’. Taking the body of a prisoner, or anyone else, and putting it on tour is not ‘art’. How would you feel if your child was taken and held prisoner; you were never allowed to see them or know the charges and then you find out they have been executed? What if a few years later you saw pictures of an ‘art’ exhibit and actually recognized the individual as your lost son, daughter, mother or father? How would that make you feel about the ‘human’ race?

The Chinese Government does not grant it’s Citizens the same rights that the U.S. Constitution grants our citizens. Chinese citizens do not have freedom of religion. Individuals are regularly arrested if caught practicing ‘unauthorized’ religion. “Wave of arrests of Protestant Christians.”

Does it concern you that China is the largest holder our debt? It should.
