A good week for Freedom and smaller Government?

Kudo’s to California for saying NO to new taxes.  Now let’s make sure that Congress also says NO to bailing out California; a state that businesses have been fleeing due to their restrictive government policies and high tax rates.

Why should, say, the residents of TEXAS – where there is NO STATE INCOME TAX, be expected to bailout California where the tax rates are through the roof?

Thank you to the Senate for saying NOto allowing Gitmo detainees to be moved to the U.S.

Chaney makes valid points and volleys the ball back into the President’s camp.  Chaney’s popularity polls ARE going up, while Obama’s are going down.

Pelosi is losing ground and credibility faster than she can change her statement.  Now, she just says she won’t answer any more questions on the matter – so there!

Polls show that more people are questioning the ultimate negative consequences that would be caused if the Cap & Trade bill were passed; especially as more and more people (finally) question the legitimacy of supposed ‘man made’ global warming.

Even more GOOD NEWS ~ more listeners are tuning in to Melody Scalley for ‘Politics On The Edge’ on Monday nights from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Eastern) at http://www.rfcradio.comand on Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on 103.3 WESR FM.

This Monday night tune in at 8 p.m. for an interview with Terry McAuliffe and also former Gov. George Allen as well as Frances Rice from the National Black Republican Association.

Thank you to our Guests and Listening Audience

I ran out of time again last night.  I hope my listeners found the show as interesting as I did thought provoking. Our guests included Nationally syndicated columnist and distinguished George Mason University Professor, Dr. Walter Williams.  We also heard from Ms. Robin Martin, author of the Conservative Black Woman blog.

Former Governer George Allen joined us to discuss the ‘Cap and Tax’ proposal and how it will impact all of us when we pay our utility bills.

We continued the discussion about improving the public education available to our children with Neal McCluskey from the Cato Center for Educational Freedom and heard an update from Berkley Rayfield about the Christian School in Cape Charles.

Jim Hoeft of Bearing Drift gave us an update on the Virginia political races.  And Willie Randall announced that he is running for Supervisor in district 1,  in Northampton County.

Be sure to catch my show on MONDAY NIGHT from 8 pm to 10 pm on Radio For Conservatives at http://www.rfcradio.com!

Why Do Americans of African Descent Overwhelmingly Support Democrats?

This week guests will try to answer the question, “Why do Americans of African descent overwhelming tend to support Democratic candidates whose policies ultimately undermine their moral values and economic advancement?”.

This is one of the best articles I’ve come across on the issue: Why Is the Black Vote in the Democrats’ Pocket?

Our guests will include Nationally syndicated columnist and distinguished George Mason University Professor, Dr. Walter Williams.  We’ll also hear from Ms. Robin Martin, author of the Conservative Black Woman blog; (Mr. Coby Dillard from the African Americans for McDonnell coalition will not be able to join us.)  But we will hear from Ron Miller a MD Senate candidate.   We’ll also chat with Frances Rice, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, a lawyer and chairman of the National Black Republican Association.

Former Governer George Allen will join us to discuss the ‘Cap and Tax’ proposal and how it could impact all of us when we pay our utility bills.

Mark McKinnon, will join us to discuss the possible changes to the Employee Free Choice Act.

We’ll talk further about improving the public education available to our children with Neal McCluskey from the Cato Center for Educational Freedom.

Jim Hoeft of Bearing Drift will give us an update on the Virginia political races.  And we’ll answer the question, “Who is running for Supervisor in districts 1, 2, and 3 in Northampton County?”.

That’s this Thursday starting at 6 p.m. and streaming live on the internet until 9 p.m. (Eastern) Don’t Miss a Minute!  Melody Scalley ~ On the Edge of the Shore.

Educated Voters an Endangered Species?

endagered voterWhile educated voters are an endangered species; conservative Republicans are probably extinct.

You might have been led to believe that the presence of man has decimated the animal kingdom; in fact, new species are constantly being discovered:

  •  Three species that are new to science  discovered in forests of the Peruvian Andes.
  • New frogfish with psychedelic markings found.
  • Near the border with Panama, researchers found 60 types of amphibians, 20 reptiles and 120 bird species.
  • Genetic analysis has revealed three previously unknown species of lemurs.
  • Discovered; a rat that was believed to have become extinct 11 million years ago.
  • Huge Pacific Fish Identified  as a new fish species.
  • Rare Borneo leopard identified as new species.
  • As many as 10,000 new species of plants, animals and insects are discovered each year.

Could this mean there is there hope for the discovery of a previously undiscovered educated electorate?

Can you imagine what would happen if  Congress appropriated funds to reverse the possible extinction of conservative voters?  What would happen if Congress required an electorate that was educated on the issues and understood the potential policies and positions of politicians BEFORE they cast their vote ?

At the next election, THEY WOULD ALL BE VOTED OUT!

Educated Voters should be at the top of the endangered species list.

The Government’s impact on our lives.

If the government would just get out of the way and let the private sector do what the private sector does best ~ create jobs by investing in and creating business.

If the government would stop stifling opportunity through restrictive zoning, burdensome regulations and increased taxes ~ capital investors would be willing to establish new business and increase business.

Instead – what a capital investor sees when he looks out on the potential business landscape is plain and simply – quicksand.  No one with any common sense at all would even consider putting their money on the line.

Until we choose to realize and understand that you cannot attack the capital investors and at the same time expect them to create opportunities that will result in J-O-B-S; until then, this economy will not have a prayer for sustainable improvement.

What the Obama administration is creating right now is an unsustainable bubble in the market.  Because of the policies this administration wants to put in place, like Card Check, Cap & Trade, stopping any possibility of offshore drilling, mandatory health care . . . will all result in the capital investor taking their money to a country where they can be assured that the rules of engagement won’t change after they have put their money on the table.

If you want to fix the political system in this county, it is time for YOU to get involved.  Your grandchildren won’t have the same opportunities that you had if you don’t do something to ensure that what the founding fathers envisioned for this great Nation are still in place for the next generation.

Line up for March 19 Show

I know, I’m behind schedule for updating notes from the 3/12 show and I promise to get there, but I wanted to add a quick post about my upcoming guests this week:

Tara Smith from University of Texas will be chatting with us about The Menace of Pragmatism.

We’ll also be joined by Carrie Lukas and chatting about her book, “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Women, Sex, and Feminism“. . . if none of my other topics got me voted off the island I’m pretty sure this one will!   Just because we can have it all doesn’t mean we wantit!!!  And, why does it seem like things really have gone down hill since women got the right to vote anyway!?!

Let’s get an update on Global Warming with Marc Morano…pooor Al – he just can’t shake that “Gore Effect”.

On the political front, this week we’ll be chatting with Patrick Muldoon from the VA 9th district  who is also running for Lieutenant Governor and finally Ben Marchi, state director for Americans for Prosperity.

We may have a few more guests too!

Take off those rose colored glasses. . .

Help bring prosperity back to the U.S.A.!

Folks there a few very basic ways we can save this great country and it won't take another failed bailout! Corporations that have taken jobs oversees will come back in droves; you will take home your entire paycheck without deductions and the GDP of this country not only recover but be better than it it ever was! How? Just let your representatives and delegates know that you want them to pass the FairTax see http://www.fairtax.org for more info. Second, we really need to pass Tort Reform. There is a growing movement and many reasons for this. I'll have to expand on that later. Last, for now anyway, we can correct the shortfall in Health insurance in this country easily without turning it over to the government ~ as we all know anything the government tries to do they DO WRONG! but alas, more on this later too ;)
